Brei’s 1st Battle: Cyst

Brei's 1st Battle Cyst

I actually forgot that this happened! But while I was scrolling through the stories page of our church’s website, I came across the title, “We’re Expecting a Baby!” and clicked it. While reading through it, it sounded more and more familiar, until my name was noted in the end as the writer’s name! Oh, how forgetful!!!

Berea Dannielle. As written in my previous post, one of the things we’ve felt and been declaring is that Brei is a fighter. In hindsight, I was scared a bit because she can’t be a fighter without battles to fight. I want her spared from battles, but maybe God had other plans and we can only submit to Him and what He allows to happen.

The first battle began when I was pregnant with her at 5 weeks. At my first ultrasound on June 28, 2014, we confirmed that I was pregnant. However, the ultrasound also showed a cystic left ovary. It had benign features, but hey, a cyst is a cyst in my mind! At 5 weeks, it was too early for a heartbeat too, so we were asked to come back a week after for another ultrasound, for pregnancy viability (heartbeat) and to monitor the cyst. Our prayer was that we will hear the heartbeat then, and the 5 cm cyst would be gone. Here’s a shot of the June 28 ultrasound report:

On July 5, I had my second ultrasound. We heard the most endearing heartbeat, which the doctor said was healthy, and the cyst was gone! 🙂

We were very thankful to God for answering our prayers! 🙂

Now the hemorrhage on that second ultrasound report is another story, and I will save that for another post on Brei’s fights. 🙂
