Notecards by Noah

Hoooraaay! We’ve had this idea since last year—introducing entrepreneurship to our kids as young as they can grasp its basic concepts. We understand that part of our role as parents to young children is to observe and discern their God-given giftings so we can expose them to environments that can mature those giftings. We believe that God has set each of them apart for unique and specific paths.

So far, Noah seems to be our guy for music, arts, and theatrics—his ear hears even the smallest musical nuances, quick to learn piano, makes up his own songs, and for those who know him, it’s quite obvious that he’s very theatrical. His teacher also says he’s good in art and painting. He was also quick with numbers. Between 2 and 3 years old, he would count to 100 and say how much is left to 100 (65, 35 left; 66, 34 left) and grasped cost and sales concepts on how to “make new money” with one sit-down.

Ethan, on the other hand, is a little shy dude. But he’s really good with dance and sports. He had that shooting form without being taught, and he handles the soccer ball surprisingly with good control for his age. He also has that natural groove. He just needs to overcome his stage/people freight (in his first ever dance recital, he just stood on stage during the whole routine hehe).

The twins still confuse us so let’s leave it at that. 😅

Last school year, we entrusted our homeschooling to Bahay Ugnayan Educational Services and Teacher Avon. I personally got to work with Avon when her and her husband were serving as campus missionaries to the City of Makati. I am so grateful to them for openly welcoming Noah (and this coming school year, Ethan too) as their kids’ homeschool classmates. This setup enables me to continue living out what God has for me this season as a full-time church administrator, without neglecting premium education for our kids. If you have young kids and figuring out your school setup, do contact them. They can help you with what options you can consider, whether it’s with through their services or not. Why? I can see that that’s the ministry God gave them. They consider it a ministry more than a business. And that’s why I can personally endorse their services.

Part of Noah’s curriculum is art appreciation. He learned about Van Gogh and Paul Klee, among other artists. These, along with his own original art depicting the tree in Psalm 1, now became his first batch of notecards exposing him to the world of business.
