Buffering…

Well hello there. I finally finished (I think) my mini writing project that gave this site a hiatus. Please do watch out for it! In the meantime, it’s 3:00 AM and I’m still up so might as well wake up this site. ?

Yesterday afternoon I was privileged to teach some folks a thing or two about prayer and worship. Let me share one here.

In this generation, we’re so used to getting things in an instant. Internet. The buffer wheel has just begun and without it reaching past the midpoint of the wheel, we complain about how slow the connection is. When a page takes time to load, we give up on it, close the tab, and search for a new site.

We need to be careful to not bring this to prayer. As much as we musn’t rush conversations with our spouse or friend or someone important to us, we musn’t rush our conversations with God. We can’t just say hi to God, shoot on with a list of prayer points, and then when we ask God to speak to us, we go out of the room after a few seconds and conclude that God didn’t tell us anything.

God loves us so much and greatly enjoys the alone time we spend with Him. Sometimes He simply wants us to stay there a little bit longer.

Just a point to ponder. 🙂
