Just A.S.K.

It took me eleven months to come to terms with the fact that this adjusting to mommyhood won’t ever end, and that it’s part of the joys of life. ?

Noah babbles a lot (like A LOT!!!) and when he wants something, he makes all kinds of cute sounds, from sudden loud bursts, to sweet, heart-melting syllables. When I’m not melting with his being adorable, I go, “Noah, just tell me what you want.” ? My heart is to give him what’s best for him, and at those moments, him being unable to verbalize what he needs or wants is sometimes a barrier.

Then I wonder, how many times have I beaten around the bush with God? Just tell me what you want—how many times could have God been saying that to us?

As God’s sons and daughters, we can come to the throne of grace with confidence. And we are told to just A.S.K.

Ask, and it will be given to you;
seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives,
and the one who seeks finds,
and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”
Matthew 7:7-8

You know what? The bible doesn’t just stop there, as if receiving, finding, and open doors are not enough:

“Or which one of you,
if his son asks him for bread,
will give him a stone?
Or if he asks for a fish,
will give him a serpent?
If you then, who are evil,
know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your Father who is in heaven
give good things to those who ask Him!
Matthew 7:9-11

Those were the very words of Jesus. This challenges my faith to just A.S.K. away today!

Has it been almost a year? People keep telling us to savor every moment because time flies so fast… It’s been a year worth savoring and we felt and we were present in every single moment that time flew by just right. I love this little boy who is celebrating his first birthday in less than a month! ❤️
